hello my flowers!
it has been so much fun and rewarding building my little snail mail community. there’s so many of you i’ve become online besties with, and it makes it all the more wholesome to receive your cute feedback and see your unboxing hauls of my letters!! i think that is the best part of this whole process, other than packing them of course. if you’re reading this, please follow me on tik tok so we can be friends!
this month’s theme centers around picnics in the spring. as someone who’s grown up in brooklyn, new york, and in a south asian family, my brain is engineered to constantly move fast. i grew up neglecting the art of sitting down outside in a picnic, and discovering this art as an adult has truly made me appreciate how calming these slower activities can be. i mention slow because living in this city is fast paced, and being south asian as well, if you know, you know. now, i take liberties in grabbing a bedsheet, heading to the beach, and just reading my book or drawing or even taking my scrapbook out for a spread. bonus to have great company, and i’m blessed to have my little sister yearn for the same hobbies. and with that, my mental is reset!
this month includes a sticker sheet where you can design your own picnic spread with the goodies i thought of for a perfect spring picnic. you’ve got your trader joe’s chantilly vanilla bean cake, which is by far the best little cake i’ve ever had by the way, pair it with a charcuterie board with savory snacks such as a boursin cheese and crackers. on the sweeter side, you’ve got your fruits which you can also top on that cake, and some trader joe’s fruit gummies. i added in a cute pair of sunnies, a rhode lippie (shade raspberry jelly, for the matching picnic vibe), an iced coffee, and a kindle. sounds like the perfect picnic to me!
this month’s extra includes a mini print, painted by my little sister during one of those said picnics hehe. i truly love those little inciardi vending machines and finding one out in the wild brings me so much joy. so i thought i’d incorporate that here hehe. if you’re reading this as a member, dm me if there’s a specific print you’d like and i’ll get in a word from the manager (lol me) to cheat one in for ya. but man there’s just something about a little surprise print. and my sister killed it with these, i literally scanned them from her painting notebook. love love love.
i also added in a greetings from valley stream postcard. it’s where i currently reside and the flowers in the video are literally from a clip i took during my bike ride around my neighborhood. it literally screamed spring in a clip so i had to design something out of it hehe. i’m really proud of this spread and every time my spread is complete i get so giddy that it’s exactly how i’ve pictured it and more. i cannot wait for the next one, i’m thinking beachy june vibes? if you guys have any recommendations of what you’d like to see please let me know know!!
