My name is Valerie, and I am the proud daughter of a beautiful Dominican mom and a super cool Puerto Rican dad. I was born and raised in The Bronx, and my passion for hair started when I was a little girl.

Growing up, I didn't always have the easiest relationship with my hair. As an adult, I realized my mother was doing her best with my hair, she just hadn't quite cracked the code on my natural hair yet, and honestly, neither had I! The result was monthly relaxers and weekly salon visits just to keep my hair straight. I loved the look, but deep down, I always longed for curls. Something in me never wanted my hair to be tamed. I wanted my hair to be free and have a character of its own!

Fast forward to college, I finally took control. I started my curly hair journey, experimenting with oil blends to help my hair grow long and strong. And it worked! By 2017, I stopped straightening my hair completely, and that's when everything changed. My hair blossomed in ways I never could have imagined. Then came the pandemic, and with it, the gift of consistency, and my hair truly showed out. Consistency really is everything, especially when it comes to your hair!

The inspiration behind this oil goes back to a family friend of my mothers who used to soften my hair with oils when I was young. I always noticed how incredible my hair felt afterward, and I never forgot that feeling. So as an adult, I set out to create something of my own, and this is it!

This blend was my companion through my transition from processed to natural hair, helping my strands grow stronger and stay resilient every step of the way.
