Mark Belt MD

Dr. Mark Belt is a board-certified Emergency Physician with over 20 years of frontline clinical experience. He earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia, and completed his residency at Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx, New York.

Throughout his career, Dr. Belt has evaluated and treated thousands of patients facing both physical and psychological crises. His extensive work in high-pressure emergency settings exposed him to the deep and complex nature of human suffering—beyond what conventional medicine often addresses.

Driven by both his clinical experience and personal exploration, Dr. Belt began to investigate the deeper, subconscious roots of emotional pain. This led him to develop Affective Behavioral Therapy (ABT)—a pioneering approach grounded in affective neuroscience—and the ABCs of Wellbeing, a practical program designed to help individuals reprogram emotional patterns at the core of anxiety, depression, addiction, and other forms of mental suffering.

Amita earned her degree in Physiology from The University of Arizona in 2005, followed by a decade of experience as a phlebotomist and certified nursing assistant. From 2020 to 2022, Amita lived in Tanzania, where she deepened her study of herbs and plant medicine, enriching her holistic approach to nursing. She is also a former elite athlete, a 3-time NCAA All-American in Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field, and a 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials competitor in the 100m hurdles and long jump. Her athletic background informs her understanding of the mind-body connection, performance psychology, and personal discipline.

Outside of healthcare, Amita is deeply committed to sustainable and off-grid living. She designs and builds earthen homes using hyper adobe techniques and passive cooling systems, reflecting a broader philosophy of harmony with nature and intentional living.

At ABC Wellbeing, Amita combines her medical training, holistic worldview, and subconscious healing techniques to help clients release limiting beliefs, dissolve fear, and live with greater clarity, peace, and purpose.
