About Me

For years, I thought acne was something you outgrew.

As a physician, I understood the science of skin. I knew the textbooks, the treatment algorithms, the ingredients that were supposed to work. But none of that prepared me for the emotional weight of stubborn adult acne , the kind that starts in your adult years and quietly chips away at your confidence.

My acne wasn’t just an occasional breakout. It was persistent, unpredictable, and frustrating. Some mornings I would wake up to painful inflamed bumps. Other days it was texture, clogged pores, dark marks, or the constant cycle of irritation from trying product after product that promised clear skin.

And perhaps the most isolating part was this: even as a physician, I struggled to find products that truly supported acne-prone skin without overwhelming it.

Too many skincare brands focused on stripping the skin barrier, overloading routines with harsh actives, or chasing trends instead of understanding the biology of acne. Products were either too aggressive, too fragranced, too heavy, or simply not designed with long-term skin health in mind.

So I began approaching my own skin differently.

Instead of searching for miracle cures, I focused on understanding what acne-prone skin actually needs:

  • ingredients that support the skin barrier
  • formulations that reduce congestion without excessive irritation
  • consistency over complexity
  • hydration without heaviness
  • science-backed skincare that fits into real life

Over time, my skin changed — not overnight, but steadily. The inflammation calmed. The breakouts became manageable. My skin became healthier, stronger, and more predictable. Most importantly, I stopped feeling like I was constantly at war with my face.

That journey changed the way I viewed skincare entirely.

I realized there were so many adults silently struggling with acne while trying to navigate overwhelming skincare advice online. People were spending hundreds of dollars on complicated routines, layering products that damaged their barrier, and feeling defeated when their skin didn’t improve fast enough.

I created AcneologyMD and AcneologyHQ for them.

Both were built from both personal experience and medical insight, a carefully curated skincare destination for people with acne-prone skin who are tired of the confusion, the gimmicks, and the endless trial and error.
