About Me
I’m Linden Wells, an artist, educator and the creator of A Creative Beginning.
My work brings together my experience in art education, my own creative practice and the activities I enjoy with my young daughter. These experiences inspired me to create practical, age-appropriate resources that help children learn, grow and express themselves through art.
I believe creativity begins long before a child can draw a recognisable picture. It starts with a first mark, a new texture, a colour choice, a repeated movement or the confidence to try something independently.
The activities in my guides are designed to support creativity alongside communication, coordination, problem-solving, emotional development and confidence. They focus on exploration rather than perfection, allowing the child to make choices and enjoy the creative process without pressure to produce a particular result.
My aim is to make meaningful art experiences easier for parents, carers, childminders and early-years practitioners to provide using clear instructions, accessible materials and developmentally informed guidance.
