About Me
My name is Murray. I’m a senior, a lifelong learner, a traveller, and someone who believes that getting older should never mean stopping your curiosity about the world.
I did not come to artificial intelligence as a computer programmer or technology expert. I came to it as an ordinary person who wanted to understand what AI could actually do in everyday life.
Artificial Intelligence for Seniors
I did not come to artificial intelligence as a computer programmer or technology expert. I came to it as an ordinary person who wanted to understand what AI could actually do in everyday life.
The more I experimented with it, the more I discovered practical uses: planning trips, writing messages and stories, organizing information, learning about new subjects, getting help with technology, keeping track of schedules, and staying connected with family and friends.
That experience led me to a simple idea: AI should be explained in a way that ordinary people—especially older adults—can understand and use confidently.
I’m still learning too, and that is an important part of these publications. They are written from the perspective of someone exploring AI alongside the reader rather than talking down to them or burying them in technical language.
Why I Created These Publications
Artificial intelligence is developing very quickly. For many seniors, it can seem complicated, intimidating, or simply something intended for younger people.
I believe the opposite is true.
AI has the potential to be especially useful as we get older. It can help us learn, organize our lives, plan travel, communicate with family, understand technology, prepare for appointments, explore hobbies, preserve memories, and discover new ways of staying independent and connected.
The purpose of AI Made Simple for Seniors is to make those possibilities understandable.
These publications are designed around a few simple principles:
- Plain language instead of technical jargon
- Practical examples instead of computer theory
- Step-by-step explanations
- Ideas you can actually try yourself
- Honest discussion of privacy, scams, mistakes, and AI's limitations
- Regular updates as the technology changes
I don't believe anyone needs to become an AI expert.
You only need enough confidence to ask:
“Could AI help me with this?”
Learning Together
Because AI is changing so rapidly, this is not intended to be a book that is published once and gradually becomes outdated.
It is an ongoing series of short, affordable publications covering subjects such as:
Using ChatGPT • Travel planning • Calendars and reminders • Medical appointment preparation • Writing and communication • Technology help • Online safety • Family memories • Hobbies • AI companions and robot pets • New developments in artificial intelligence
New material will be added as useful technologies and ideas emerge.
My goal is simple:
To help older adults understand artificial intelligence, experiment with it safely, and decide for themselves how it can make everyday life easier, more interesting, and more connected.
And perhaps most importantly, to show that you are never too old to learn something new.
