Sometimes the person we are hardest on is ourselves.
We forgive other people.
We understand when they’re tired.
We tell them, “It’s okay. You’re doing your best.”
But when it comes to us?
We expect perfection.
We think we should have done better.
Known better.
Been stronger.
Had more patience.
Made a different decision.
But what if you stopped for a moment and gave yourself the same kindness you give everyone else?
You are learning.
You are growing.
You are going to make mistakes. I make them too. Every single day.
And I’m starting to understand that maybe the goal was never to become perfect.
Perfect doesn’t exist.
Our imperfections are part of what makes us beautiful. They tell the story of where we’ve been, what we’ve survived, what we’re learning, and who we’re becoming.
Some days you will feel strong.
Other days you might feel like you have nothing left to give.
Both versions of you deserve love.
So today, instead of asking yourself:
“Why didn’t I do better?”
Try asking:
“What can I learn from this?”
And then keep going.
Not with punishment.
Not with judgment.
With love.
You don’t have to have everything figured out.
You just have to keep choosing yourself, little by little.
Be patient with yourself.
You’re becoming someone you’ve never been before.
Ámate. 🤍
