I Created AMATE Because I Needed It Too
I’m a mother, a woman, a nurse, and someone who is still learning every single day.
For a long time, I was so busy taking care of everything and everyone around me that I didn’t always stop to ask myself one simple question:
How am I?
Not what do I need to do next?
Not who needs me?
Just… how am I, really?
I started realizing how easy it is to go through life doing, planning, worrying about tomorrow, and trying to keep everything together—while slowly disconnecting from ourselves.
And somewhere along my own journey, I learned something that changed the way I see life:
Perfect doesn’t exist.
And maybe it was never supposed to.
Our imperfections, our emotions, our difficult days, our mistakes, our growth—they are all part of what makes us beautifully human.
That is where AMATE began.
I wanted to create something that reminds us to pause.
To breathe.
To feel our bodies.
To listen instead of immediately trying to fix everything.
To give ourselves the same love and attention we so easily give to everyone else.
I’m not creating AMATE because I have life figured out. I’m creating it because I’m on this journey too.
I’ve worked hard and poured so much of my heart into the first AMATE journey, but this is only the beginning.
There is so much more I want to create. More conversations. More tools. More moments that bring us back to ourselves.
I want AMATE to become a space where we don’t have to pretend.
Where we can be imperfect.
Where we can feel.
Where we can grow without judging ourselves for where we are today.
So if you’re reading this, I want you to remember something:
You don’t need to become a perfect version of yourself to deserve your own love.
You can start right here.
Exactly as you are.
Pause. Feel. Listen. Come back to yourself.
With love,
