About the Creator
Homeschooling and home life, designed for your capacity.
My name is Gina Ortiz. I am a homeschooling mother of six children, a veteran, and a Puerto Rican woman with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. I am also a person managing chronic illness while running a household that does not stop moving.
I homeschool because conventional schooling did not fit my children's needs. I build curriculum because what existed on the market did not fit them either. And I design everything around capacity — because the version of homeschooling that assumes you have unlimited time, energy, and resources never accounted for families like mine.
"I am not building resources for the ideal homeschool day. I am building them for the real one — the one where you are tired, your child is struggling, and you still have to show up."
A Peculiar Existence exists because homeschooling and home life are harder than they need to be when the tools available were built for someone else's circumstances. The curriculum I create is original, research-informed, and tested in my own home with my own children — children with learning differences, children who are thriving, and everything in between.
The home life systems I build are designed for the parent who is managing a complex household largely on their own — not as a productivity guru, but as someone who has figured out what actually holds when capacity is limited and the day is long.
Everything sold here is something I built because I needed it and it did not exist. If you are here, it probably means you needed it too.
"Homeschooling and home life, designed for your capacity."
