About Me
As Zita Monori-Monory, I carry forward the rich heritage of the Monory-Kovács family,
Hungarian aristocrats and cultural patrons. My great-grandfather, Gyula Monory-Kovács,
played a pivotal role in fostering Hungary’s vibrant artistic scene in the late 19th century,
supporting artists and intellectuals. Though not an artist himself, his vision and influence
shaped generations of creative minds.
My cousin, András Monory-Mész , continued this legacy as an avant-garde filmmaker,
pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling. His bold, experimental approach to art
inspired me to embrace abstraction, focusing on emotional depth and intuitive expression.
Today, my work blends the elegance of my aristocratic roots with a contemporary
approach to abstract art. Each piece I create is a dialogue between past and present,
honoring my family’s cultural contributions while pushing forward into new artistic
realms. Through layered textures and dynamic colors, I invite viewers to experience the
emotional landscapes within each painting. I am constantly creating, with one work
emerging from another as a result of the intricacy of thoughts.
It is a sensory play of dynamic gestures and intense textual effects, intertwined with
transparent mediums, sensitive and multi-layered surfaces.
My paintings are like energetic spaces, where colors and shapes intersect and interweave,
reflecting emotions that reveal reality differently for each individual.
