Beginner Video

This video discusses some of the things you need to know to get started (like hooks and yarn) and then demonstrates how to make a foundation row and tunisian simple stitch. These are the two fundamentals of nearly all my designs.

What's all the fuss about Tunisian Crochet?

Tunisian Crochet (TC) is a yarn craft that's in between knitting and crochet. I think it's easier to learn TC than it is to learn standard crochet or knitting.

TC is always worked in two steps – a forward and a return pass. These two steps count as 1 row. The act of putting all stitches in a row on your hook is what makes it like knitting. The act of using a hook and how you create each stitch is what makes it like crochet.

Historically, TC has been associated with blankets and chunky homewares rather than nicely draped material suitable for wearables. I'm here to show you different. TC is incredibly versatile and when you choose the right hook and yarn combination, you can make beautiful garments and accessories.... and homewares.
