Becky Anne Miller

A fairy-tale childhood is how, as a budding adult, I described my early years. There were some major bumps along the road, but I’m an iron-clad optimist. I remember best the good times I had while growing up in the country. There are so many wonderful memories:

*Horseback riding along the creek, in the woods, and through fields

*Swimming and water games with my brothers and sister in our spring-fed lake

*Catching a few whopper large-mouth bass and many, many small bluegills from our lake

*Exploring the nearby woods

*Gathering huge blackberries, sponge and puffball mushrooms, hickory nuts and walnuts

*Playing outdoor games as a family during summer…Kick the Can; Hide ‘n Seek; Red Rover, Red Rover; Seven Steps Around the House; Steal the Flag; and more

*Splashing through the creek that ran near our house; catching crawdaddies, frogs and turtles

*Curling up on the couch and reading everything I could get my hands on, reading through the Bible and even our Collier’s Encyclopedia

*Enjoying interaction with a multitude of animals…cats, dogs, cows, calves, chickens, rabbits, lambs and more

*Worshipping every Sunday with a wonderful church family

*Being a part of Dad’s dessert-baking on Sunday afternoons…yummy donuts, cookies, cakes and candy

*“Bobsledding” down a very long steep hill near our home, the hood from an old car serving as a bobsled, with four of us crowded aboard and swooping down together

Those were wonderful growing-up days, and the “wonderful” continues into my golden years. Recently asked by an acquaintance if my cup is usually half-full or half-empty, I answered, “My cup is always running over!”

Friends and family consider me to be an extreme optimist, but my optimism is firmly based on reality. Even during the rough patches in life, there have been blessings in every day. I am so thankful to God for His awesome love and care!

Yes, a Little Wacky!

Okay, okay...so God threw a bit of wacky into my personality. I try to keep it under control, but once in a while it pops out!

(Note: When my Wacky Poetry book comes out, this will be quite evident!)
