About the Author
Oscar Davila has never believed that a person needs to be an expert to begin something worthwhile.
A father with an appreciation for good food and a natural curiosity for learning new skills, Oscar found himself increasingly drawn to the creativity and challenge of cooking. He enjoyed discovering what made a dish work, understanding how flavors came together, and figuring out how to turn an ordinary recipe into something he could proudly serve.
His approach was rarely complicated: find something worth making, learn how to make it well, and keep improving until he was satisfied with the result.
Over time, his collection of recipes grew beyond the familiar foods he knew. Mexican and Tex-Mex favorites found their place alongside Italian classics, American comfort food, international dishes, and desserts worth the extra effort.
Eventually, Oscar recognized an opportunity to turn his growing collection into something more substantial. He began organizing, refining, and developing the recipes into a cookbook that could be enjoyed by home cooks of different backgrounds and experience levels.
At the Table with Dad represents the result of that effort, combining his love of food with his determination to create something of his own.
And like any good recipe, he believes there's always room to make the next version even better.
