
About Me
Born in Bridgeport, CT, and raised in Springfield, MA to Puerto Rican mother who spoke little to no English Mydalis is dedicated to intertwining English and Spanish. She is an up-and-coming Latina writer who is motivated to create pieces that incorporate Spanglish. Mydalis writes in both English and Spanish in hopes to become the writer she needed when she was a little girl. Mydalis Vera attended the Clemente Course through the Bard College Initiative pregnant with her daughter. She then transferred to Holyoke Community College where she found mentors who uplifted her writing journey. She transferred as a Frances Perkins Scholar to Mount Holyoke where she received her (B.A.). She is currently attending the MFA Nonfiction Creative Writing program at Baypath University. She has worked as a rehousing specialist stabilizing homeless families, taught English as a second language, and currently works in social services. Her mission is to motivate women.
