I grew up in Tennessee, dreaming of being a marine biologist-actress-astronaut-writer-zoo keeper, because, as my dad likes to say, I "want to do everything." Eventually settling on screenwriting and creative writing, I attended the University of Miami and the University of Alabama, before becoming a librarian and product manager.

After college, I volunteered at the Nashville Zoo, developing an affinity for the smell of fresh hay and goat droppings.

Outside of work, I still spend my days dreaming of being an astronaut, planning epic road trips with my husband where we can chase down historical monuments and the darkest night sky, and enjoying cheese.
