About Coach AB
Coach AB is a Youth Sports Adversity Coach with more than 20 years of experience helping families navigate one of the most overlooked parts of sports—the mental and emotional challenges that come with team politics, favoritism, limited playing time, confidence struggles, and difficult coaching situations.
After his own basketball career was cut short by injury, AB dedicated his life to coaching and mentoring young athletes. Over the years, he realized that the biggest obstacle keeping athletes from reaching their potential wasn’t always talent—it was adversity. He watched countless players lose confidence, parents feel powerless, and families question whether they should stay, transfer, confront coaches, or simply walk away from the game.
That realization became his mission.
Today, Coach AB helps parents and athletes understand the “game inside the game.” Rather than reacting emotionally, he teaches families how to protect confidence, make smarter decisions, communicate effectively, and turn adversity into a competitive advantage.
His guidance comes from both professional experience and personal experience as a father. He has successfully helped develop athletes who earned Division I scholarships and professional opportunities, while also navigating the recruiting journey with his own children. His daughter overcame countless obstacles on her way to becoming a Division I athlete, Conference MVP, and State Champion, reinforcing the same principles AB now teaches families every day.
Based in Las Vegas, Coach AB continues to mentor athletes and parents through digital resources, strategy sessions, social media, and his book Outsmarting Adversity. His mission is simple:
To help families outsmart adversity, protect their child’s confidence, and navigate youth sports with clarity instead of frustration.
