Meet the Authors: Dr. Johnson and Dr. Russell
The idea for the Becoming Doctor Digital Planner was born during my second year of medical school. At that time, I vividly remembered how overwhelming the pre-medical journey felt especially for students who are first-generation or navigating the process without built-in mentorship or guidance.
The path to medical school is demanding, complex, and often unclear. There are countless deadlines, expectations, and unspoken rules, and many students are left trying to figure it out alone. I wanted to create something I wish I had during that stage of my journey: an all-encompassing, structured planner that didn’t just track tasks, but guided the process.
I discussed this vision with Dr. Johnson, and together we thoughtfully outlined what a pre-medical student truly needs to stay organized, focused, and supported. We created a comprehensive list of tools and sections designed to help students manage academics, MCAT preparation, applications, interviews, and personal wellness because success in this journey requires balance, not burnout.
This planner was intentionally built to support students who may not have access to formal advising, generational knowledge, or insider guidance. Every section was designed with purpose, clarity, and empathy, with the goal of turning an overwhelming process into a manageable and empowering one.
Becoming Doctor is more than a planner, it’s a roadmap, a mentor in digital form, and a reminder that with structure, support, and consistency, this dream is achievable.
