About Me
Ryan Anderson has been a Firefighter Paramedic since 2005. He has been teaching breath mechanics and facilitating workshops focused on nervous system regulation since 2019. As the host of the AWONERJUNKIE podcast, Ryan engages with interesting guests from around the world to inspire curiosity, awe, and wonder.
A firm believer in lifelong learning, Ryan is driven by a passionate curiosity. Ryan has seen firsthand the effects that trauma and other factors have on the mental and physical health of himself, his peers, and the people he serves in the community. This led him to learn and understand more about the nature of the problem, and find ways to stay healthy and reduce suffering and imbalances in his own life, and in the lives of others.
In 2011 Ryan had a back injury which led him to see the systemic issues in the centralized medical model, and to discover alternative paths to healing. Ryan discovered the importance of understanding circadian biology, mindfulness and the power of the breath to create a more healthy and balanced life. Ryan has explored many other modalities such as yoga, plant medicines and floatation therapy to name a few. He began studying breathwork in 2010 and is certified with Oxygen Advantage. He has learned from many teachers, which led him to develop a unique method for fostering breath awareness and breath mechanics. He believes that building a relationship with the breath and creating better breathing patterns is fundamental for a more balanced and healthy life. Ryan developed his own style and approach for sharing the power of the breath with others that he feels is most accessible and beneficial with people from all walks of life.
