I’m Steve — guitarist, gear obsessive, dad, and the bloke behind The Broke Musician.

I started Broke Musician to make guitar feel more accessible, practical and less intimidating. I’m not pretending to be some guitar guru — I’m just someone who loves guitars, loves learning, and enjoys helping other players make progress without spending a fortune.

Everything here is designed to be straightforward, useful and affordable, whether you’re learning the fretboard, improving your improvising, or just trying to stop aimlessly noodling the same shapes.

Practise with purpose. Play with feel. And never let being broke stop you making music. 🎸
