What are Pocket Finds?

What Are Pocket Finds?

There are some things in this world that don’t look like much at first glance. Some people collect rare things. Antique clocks. Vintage books. Fine jewelry tucked safely into velvet boxes. Mr. Pennington collects something slightly different.

He collects Pocket Finds.

A tiny plastic dog in the grass.

A small toy car half-hidden in the dirt.

A button, a bead, a forgotten little object that most people would walk right past. Small things. Ordinary things. But the sort of objects that make you pause for just a moment.

Mr. P calls these pocket finds.

They’re not valuable in the usual way.

You wouldn’t put them on a shelf or lock them away somewhere safe.

But when you pick one up, something small shifts.

Mr. Pennington believes these little discoveries are the world's way of rewarding curiousity. Tiny reminders that interesting thigns are scattered everywhere, if you are willing to slow down and look.

You notice where you are.

The way the light hits the ground.

The feeling of finding something that wasn’t meant for everyone… just whoever happened to be looking.

That’s what makes a pocket find special.

It isn’t the object itself.

It’s the moment of noticing.

Mr. P likes to keep these little things tucked away in his pockets, saving them for days that feel a bit too fast or a bit too heavy. A quiet reminder that there are still small, gentle things waiting to be found.

The next time your walking somewhere familiar, try looking down once or twice. Not in a distracted way, but in a curious one.

You might be surprised by what the world has left waiting. And if you do happen to find something interesting...maybe that’s the real magic of it.

Not the finding…

but the remembering to look.

If you’ve found a pocket find before, you already know.
