Evalyn Square - FREE crochet pattern

The Evalyn square was designed to be a sister pattern to the Evalyn blanket. If you are not a fan of working in horizontal rows and prefer to start from the centre, this pattern is for you.

The Evalyn square can be made in any weight yarn, using the hook size recommended for the yarn you are using, or half size bigger. You don't want the square to be stiff, but have a drape so it is soft.

My samples below are scrap blankets, as we all can accumulate leftover yarn from projects.

The rainbow blanket is made with Stylecraft Special Dk (100g;295m) in multiple colours I had in my stash left over from other projects using a 4mm hook.

Colours include Apricot, Citron, Pistachio, Lincoln, Cloud blue, Wisteria, Candy floss, Lemon, Spearmint, Parma Violet and Parchment.

The blanket below uses multiple 10ply/worsted/#4 weight yarn and a 5mm hook. Yarns include Caron cakes, Stylecraft Special Aran, Lionbrand, Ice yarns, Sirdar and 4 season spot saver prints (Spotlight stores)

This pattern can be made into smaller squares and joined together to make a blanket, or even a pillow cover.

Eva-Lyn Blanket pattern can be purchased for a small fee on Ravelry and my Pattern shop.
