About Me
My name is Haik Byurat and I am gr. Grandson of Educator, Writer and Politician Smbat Byurat.
All Armenians know Smbat Byurat’s famous song “Adana Lamentation” (Adanayi Oxb@) which he wrote 1909.
He was massacred in 1915 Armenian Genocide and he was a forbitten writer in Soviet Armenia.
All his writings with all of his books were confiscated from My grandpa and his brother when they went to live in Armenia after WWII.
Now, there is a school in Yerevan Armenia in his name.
Smbat Byurat wrote over 40 volumes of books and most of these books you can read on line free of charge. (All books are in western Armenian).
I am Aerospace engineer, educated in Armenia and with my family left Armenia 1980 when I was 19 years old. Check my career information on LinkedIn.
Last year, first time after 40 years, I started writing in Armenian and posted my work's life story on my Facebook site, that our (Armenian) young generation will learn from it.
Also, even I do not have formal English education, started translating Smbat Byurat’s works in English to let English speaking people learn about 19-20 century Armenian history. This is that First book.
