A newly released package has arrived, and it's all focused on the idea of UI sounds that are intended to implemented for any purpose you see fit, whether it be sound alerts for when you livestream; instant messaging pings; notifications; app and game developments; web and UX design; etc. 'Actus' is a project that was conceived quite a while back in early 2021, but harks back more earlier than this - a portal back to the age of when I was mesmerised by the sounds of Eno's Windows '95 and Fujisawa's Playstation - despite being classified as 'startup' sounds, this is what intrigued me most.
As you may know, I am someone who often creates ditties, so this immediately felt undeniably logical. My workflow is pretty much packed with sound art pieces that are abandoned and never utilised so this also felt like an opportunity to be able to weave these pieces together with the concept in mind.
