About Me
Jackie Braden is an author, child-safety advocate, and the founder of Cover Your Child Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to protecting children seventeen and younger across entertainment, sports, digital media, and church settings.
A mother of two sons who have worked for years as actors in film, television, and national commercials, Braden spent more than a decade navigating the entertainment industry firsthand — learning its protections, its pitfalls, and its hard truths while raising her boys on sets and stages. That experience inspired the first edition of Cover
Your Child in the Entertainment Industry in 2015, a guide born from her determination to help other parents keep their children safe.
Braden holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems from the University of Houston–Downtown and a Master’s in Human Services Counseling, Executive Leadership from Liberty University. Her professional path has been anything but ordinary: a former actress and model, she went on to become a licensed Notary Signing Agent, a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer, and a licensed Life and Health Insurance Agent, and she founded Voltage Mortgages in 2021.
Now, more than a decade after her first edition, Braden returns with a fully revised second edition and a far larger mission. Through Cover Your Child Inc., she isworking to make California’s landmark Child Performer Protection Law a nationwide standard — advocating for every child who works directly with adults, whether on a film set, a playing field, a content channel, in a recording studio, or in a church youth program.
Braden is also writing her first feature film, Beyond the Crutch, based on her mother’s life, with more projects to follow. She lives in California, where she continues to write, advocate, and build a safer future for children in every field.
