Learning To Focus-Create Your Workspace

Create a calm relaxing space for you to work in. What would that space look like? Color schemes. Furniture. Windows. Window coverings. Pictures. Rugs. Trinkets. Bumble Bees. Snoopy. Positive Phrases. Blues. Purples. Pinks. Reds. Yellows. Family Photos. Friend Photos. Vacation Photos. Framed Art. Personal Growth Book Collection. Art Book Collection. Homemade Crafts. Stripes. Plaids. Solid Colors. What is it that brings you calmness? What is it that brings out the creativity in you? What helps you stay FOCUSED while working? Glass Decor on your desk or on a bookshelf. Sculptures. Fancy Paperclips. Fancy Thumbtacks holding up your favorite photo or phrase.

How about something to make your workspace smell AMAZING! Say some wax melts or diffusers with your favorite essential oil in it. Depending on your workspace, maybe some scented candles burning off to the side. Smells do a lot for your body and your soul. They are very relaxing and soothing for the mind as well.

Plants and flowers are a good option as well. They clean the air that you are breathing and look AMAZING in the office! Spoil yourself with some fresh flowers every Monday morning. Roses, tulips, carnations, wild flowers, daisy’s, whatever flowers bring a smile to your face. I actually started buying myself some flowers a couple months back and just set them on the corner of my desk. They are calming and bring such JOY to my heart when I sit and look at them.

Your workspace is your workspace. You design it and set it up in a way that works for you and the way you operate. This is an example of what I would consider a “simple” workspace. Sometimes one just needs a small space to call their own where one can work and walk away if /when needed. Yet, even if you need to step away for a few it is a pleasure to return to and still gives you that calming feeling when you return. It is just “your” space. Wouldn’t it be nice to sit down at your desk and have a calming screen saver playing in the background while you were working on a project? Maybe have a decorative notepad next to your computer to jot down notes as you worked. Go ahead and throw on some calming music in the background via a radio, a CD, or even that special YouTube Channel that plays your kind of relaxing music. There are many channels available to play relaxing music for an array of times. Short plays. Long plays. In-between plays. Choose the one that is right for you and your current project.

Like to giggle and have fun while in your workspace? Grab some funny daily flip calendars and have a joke of the day or just a funny phrase to read and bring a smile to your face. How about a Lava Lamp? Come on, someone must remember the Lava Lamp! Or some Moving Sand Art sitting on your desk to look at! The Perpetual Motion Swing! How about a small fish bowl or fish tank in your office? Oil drop hour glasses. Or an hour glass sitting on the desk.

Hopefully these ideas are sparking some ideas of your own to have in Your Workspace. The key is to have things that bring YOU Great Joy and have a very Calming effect on you while you are in your workspace, your creative space, your vibe-if you will. Taking care of You by having an enjoyable workspace is a part of your self-care. Take the time to Create Your Workspace for YOU!!! Plus you may very well inspire someone else to do the same in their workspace. What an AMAZING atmosphere that would be if everyone had an Amazing Calming Workspace where they work.

When inside a calming workspace you open up your mind to better FOCUS and tend to get more done with great joy. So take some time and start working on Your FOCUS area-Your Calm Workspace. Your Future Self Will Thank You.
