Learning To Focus-Sleep Rest Nap

Get more Sleep, Rest, and don’t be afraid to take a nap.

Remember when we were kids and we would just fall asleep in the strangest of places or environments? The loud restaurants. At the movie theater while the parents were watching an action movie. Driving with loud conversations or music. Walking around an amusement park and asking to be carried so you could fall asleep or rest your little tired feet. When we were younger all we know is that we are tired. We are not really concerned with where we are or whether or not it is a good time or place to take that nap or just rest. Our body would let us know that it was time to rest.

Yet as adults, we seem to ignore that feeling when it comes about. We pass it off and make other things our priority. Maybe even convince ourselves that we don’t really need it. Here these past few months I have tested out this “rest” thing. The fact is that when I take that one day to do absolutely nothing, I feel more refreshed. I also tend to get more done throughout the following week. My Focus is better. Projects get done. Plus I am not as exhausted when the end of my work week comes along.

Take it from this “Go Go Go Girl” to be sure to take some time to “Stop Stop Stop” and rest. Entertain a nap or sleeping in one day of the week. I have driven myself so hard that my body has actually put me in stop mode for over a week. My lesson learned, take that day of rest and do something out of the ordinary or my body will make me take more than a day of rest. My last bit put me down and out for two weeks. Please learn from my experiences. It is worth taking the one day off and doing anything outside what you would normally do. Instead of work, go for a walk. Read a good book. Binge watch your favorite movies or tv shows. Go get a massage. Drive the backroads and look at the scenery. Call up your friend and just talk all day about anything and everything. Call up a friend and go grab brunch or something. Do you have a sewing project that you have been wanting to complete? Maybe you love to bake and just have not taken the time to do it. Whatever it it. Just take the day and Do It!!! Not only will Your Focus Thank You, Your Future Self will as well.

Sleep In, Rest, Relax, Take a “Me” Day, Do Something For Yourself, Make You A Priority. Give it a whirl for a month or two and just see. Journal about it and see where you are after a month or two. It may surprise you.
