WOW — You are now a driver with desire, vision, focus, and positive energy…Now it is time to Invite People On Your Bus to Share all of these things with so that you can build a team to support you and pick you up when you need it most.
Our family trauma had me picking and choosing very carefully who we invited on our bus. Throughout our travels we had six people on our bus. These six people opened not only their hearts to us, but also their homes when we needed it most. They gave me my space to get my head out of my bootie and talked to me when they saw me making unwise choices. I owe these people a debt of gratitude that I feel I will personally not be able to repay. I want to take a moment and just say “Thank You” to each and every one of you for all the love you gave us and for all that you did for us when we needed it most. May each one of you be Blessed 10-fold for all that you did for this family during that time of our lives.
I do want to share a true story with you about people hopping on your bus -
At this particular time we were staying with friends in Arizona. Remember that I have a white 15-pack Ford E-350 van (you will want this visual). My girlfriend was taking some classes at a local college and once in a while I would pick her up from class to drive her home. Well this particular day I happened to be parked right out front. My girlfriend hopped into the van and before I could put the van in drive a gentleman opened the side door of the van, hopped in, closed the door behind him, and grabbed the first open space to sit in. My friend and I looked at each other and smiled. By this time the gentleman looked around and realized that he was not in a shuttle bus. Personally, I think it was the fact that he was on a “bus” with 6 children. The gentleman started to apologize and was going to get off the bus, but we convinced him to stay and gave him a ride to his next destination. He really wasn’t that far out of the way from where we had to go anyway. By the time we dropped him off, he said he felt like he was “one of the family”.
Imagine the positive impact that one ride must have had on that gentleman. Sometimes I often wonder if he shares that story with others in his life and how he speaks of it. Maybe one day I will have the privilege of finding out.
My encouragement to you is to step out there and invite others to join you on your bus. You may be very surprised as to not only who jumps on but also how they help you to accomplish that vision. Plus you just never know who you will meet…
