I’m Dr. Anthony McPherson, a Caribbean medical doctor and graduate of the University of the West Indies, with over 7 years of clinical experience across both primary and tertiary care.

Throughout my work, I’ve seen how frightening fever in children can be for parents — especially in the Caribbean, where illnesses like dengue are a real concern and access to care can sometimes be limited. I also see how conflicting advice often leads to either unnecessary panic or dangerous delays.

I created this guide to give Caribbean parents clear, practical, doctor-led guidance on how to assess fever safely, manage it at home when appropriate, and recognize when urgent medical care is needed.

My goal is simple: to help parents feel more confident, less anxious, and better equipped to protect their children’s health.
