About Me

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught gifted and talented students for 30 years in Shelby County Schools and retired in May of 2017. After retiring, I taught fifth-grade Language Arts and Social Studies in a private school for two years. I also gave ghost tours downtown for Historical Haunts in Memphis. I am an aspiring author who has been published in AppleSeeds Magazine, which is a part of the Cricket family.


MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy making PowerPoints. I always aim for higher-level thinking and questioning.


HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

• I retired as a Level 5 teacher on a five-point scale. • My students consistently won the Memphis in May Writing contest each year.
