Frank Scalise / Zafiro / Saverio
Frank has been a writer all his life. He served in the US Army as a Czechoslovak linguist from 1986-91. He joined the Spokane Police Department in 1993 and embarked on a twenty-year career. During his time on the job, Frank was a patrol officer, a training officer, and a detective. Once promoted to leadership roles, he was fortunate to command such units as K9, S.W.A.T., Volunteers, Patrol, and Investigations. He retired as a captain.
After retirement, Frank spent four years teaching police leadership for the International Association of Chiefs of Police in classrooms all over the U.S. and Canada. In 2017, he turned his focus full-time toward his writing career.
Frank has written almost fifty novels, as well as over a hundred published short stories. His work has appeared in more than forty anthologies and collections. He has won multiple awards for both his novels and short fiction.
Frank lives in central Oregon with his wife, Kristi. Both are avid hockey fans (Go Flyers!). Frank is also a tortured guitarist.
