I love to draw, paint, and color! I started painting in the 4th grade when I had a teacher who would bring artists in to demonstrate their techniques and styles. I remember one artist who painted with palette knives, in an impasto style. He painted books flying across the canvas like birds, and it was amazing. I was so impressed and just wanted to know more. I began experimenting with different mediums and styles and have never stopped. I am currently working with acrylics, watercolors and gouache in a multi layer technique.

At college I studied fine art and applied my design skills to fashion for many years working with individuals to design and create gowns, costumes and sportswear. Most recently I ran a painting studio and taught lessons for many years to adults and children which was a ton of fun but the world changed!

Today I am working out of my home studio painting and making my coloring books. I also take care of my 88 year old mother who needs constant care.

I am inspired by color, form, landscapes, sun rises and sunsets, fields of rolling hills and flowers, ancient cities, beaches.

I love to travel and try to capture some image of the places I visit. Either a landscape, day at the beach and little bird that asked for a crumb, or maybe a meal that was shared with friends and family.

I like to explore various techniques and mediums. I work with oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolor. I like to work on canvas, wood panels and paper as my substrate.

Sometimes I start with washes of color on the canvas and then design and develop the composition with more detail using brushes and palette knives. In most cases it's about layers. Lot's of layers.

My work has been featured in galleries in Nashville and California. I have been commissioned to create works for homes and offices. I have taught painting classes for over 8 years to large corporate groups with attendance of up to 85 participants as well as smaller groups.

My desire is to help others experience the creative world of color and design. So I have recently started to produce my coloring books for adults and children. I am also excited about my newest projects of reverse coloring books. These books will have colored imagery on the page and you add the design features.
