ABOUT ME

I am a published author and Personal Development Coach (trained in psychotherapy). Creator of the F.L.Y. -First. Love. Yourself courses and coaching. Contributed to a TED-Ed discussion for XQ-SLESS. I write about self-love, reinvention, and transformation.

I created this publication and my personal development coaching because I realised self-love is essential for self-fulfilment and achieving the life we desire.

I wish someone had explained this to me 22 years ago before I started my therapeutic journey.

Like many, I experienced trauma as a child. I grew up in a home with domestic violence and abuse. A lot was going on in my family. My mother was the one being physically, emotionally and psychologically abused; I didn’t ever want to ask for anything; I didn’t want to burden her. So I became a people-pleaser; it was easier. When I turned 19, my mother died. And my grief capitulated into a spiral of depression, agoraphobia, and anxiety.

I knew that most people wouldn’t want to spend 22 years in therapy. I paid attention to what made me think, feel, act, and ultimately create misery. I paid attention to other people. I went on to complete my post-graduate in psychotherapy and counselling. I researched human behaviour. I realised that what caused me a great deal of problems was my attachment to my identity as a “people-pleaser ". Other self-sabotaging identities include: victim, failure, loner, loser, etc. Regardless, my “people-pleaser” identity was destroying me.

Some women hit mid-life and become enraged, exhausted, confused, resentful and longing for authenticity. No matter how it happens, if we change our identity, transformation can occur. If we change our identity, we could cultivate self-love, and everything else would follow. And it certainly did.

My coaching incorporates all elements of our humanity: Mind. Body. Soul. It is intentionally designed to support your alignment and authenticity.

My coaching provides comprehensive training and skills. These support you through the journey of self-development to self-fulfilment and self-love.
