Brenda Tan

An ex-journalist,  Brenda Tan (M.A., English Studies) is best known as the writer of "Come into My World: 31 Stories of Autism in Singapore". Now in its fifth print, this book has garnered heartening reviews from both fellow parents and the general public. Brenda also conceptualised the One Child One Skill project in which students from tertiary institutions visit homes to teach autistic children over 8 weeks. Brenda's new book "My Way: 31 Stories of Independent Autism" features autistic adults, working or married, from 15 different countries. Apart from autism awareness, Brenda worked as an adjunct lecturer teaching English in tertiary institutions such as Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). Brenda lives in Singapore and has two children: 15-year-old Ethel and 18-year-old Calder who is autistic.
