About Me

Hello! I am the producer of CompanionTracks. I graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria majoring in Recorder and Classical Guitar and Early Music.

I am a passionate recorder player with many years of teaching and performing experience. I absolutely love the recorder music from the early renaissance til late baroque period.

I currently live in Australia, appear in concert, teach and run workshops. I had the pleasure of contributing as the musical director of the Hobart Society of Recorder Players for more than a decade.

The idea of Companion Tracks began to take shape while tutoring various recorder groups.

"If only I had somebody to play with in my area!", was an all too frequent lament!

So I stared recording play-alog tracks for fun to enable recorder players to join a 'virtual recorder ensemble'.

I am aware, of course that nothing  can replace the joys of live ensemble play ever!

However, there are significant benefits to practicing with CompanionTracks LIVE recordings:

  •  You get familiar to playing with other parts
  •  You develop important skills for ensemble play. (Such as not getting totally lost after a small mistake and finding your way 'back in')
  •  You will improve your rhythm by having to keep an exact beat.
  • You develop sensitivity to exact intonation.
  • You will Improve articulation  & phrasing by listenig to and imitating a skilled player.
  • You become versatile on all instruments and practice changing from C- to F-instrument.

I hope you will enjoy Companion Tracks!
