I have a PhD in Linguistics from Stanford University. My research spans corpus linguistics, usage-based approaches to language, and discipline-specific academic discourse. I am the author of Ten Lectures on Corpora and Cognitive Linguistics (Brill, 2023), co-author of The Academic Discourse of Mechanical Engineering (John Benjamins, 2023), and the developer of several widely used corpus tools including WordSkew, ParaConc, and MonoConc. I am the founder of Athelstan Publications and the CorpusLAB project.
