Successful First ‘Con’

Space Precinct Zero #1 made its table debut this past Friday when I attended the Dunfermline Small Business Christmas Market.

In all honesty, I had no idea what to expect, nor did I have a clue how well it would go. Not being a comic-specific event, I wasn’t expecting much attention, but it didn’t take long to be proven wrong. (Hey, I’m a poet and didn’t even realise! ...Wait…)

The market staff and other businesses were all incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout the day.

Another table expressed interest in the book and original artwork by Jayson Santos almost immediately, and I closed out the day with their purchase, leaving me having doubled the fee I paid to attend the market.

Award-winning author Randall Krzak had a table not far from mine. He introduced himself and I enjoyed a lengthy chat before picking up a copy of the first book in his BEDLAM series, The Kurdish Connection. He is writing me into his next book, Ultimate Escalation, which is due out next year. Keep your eyes peeled for a dashingly handsome, sophisticated character called Chris Handler… who cracks his knuckles a lot.

Randall may be appearing by name in a project I’m currently working on… He also picked up a copy of Space Precinct Zero, so here’s hoping you enjoyed it, Randall!

I parted with a healthy number of books that had me really quite pleased with myself, and I rewarded me with a peanut butter Snickers each time! The bag didn’t last long. I also gave away a decent number of business cards.

If you stopped by the table and are now reading this, do follow the social media links and say hi! And if you picked up the book I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks for reading,

Chris
