About Me

DScales is a multitalented recording artist from Alabama. He approaches each session and performance with a focused mind. His music reaches a broad audience by painting a variety of lyrical pictures ranging from relationships to social justice issues. To lighten the vibes a bit, he throws a few comedic songs and uplifting anthems into the mix. As a singer, rapper, songwriter, published poet, and producer, DScales continues to develop his skills daily and strives to be a valuable asset to the Hip Hop and R&B community.

He is driven by the culture.

DScales began to sing at 2 years old, and by age 13, he was creating instrumentals, writing lyrics, and recording songs on his own. His talent spawned from hearing his parents singing around him growing up. His artistic abilities began to shine in his hometown church as a lead vocalist, percussionist, and pianist.

His sound as a vocalist contains a mixture of melodic verses, a hint of chopper-styled phrases, a sprinkle of metaphors, and a dash of r&b melodies which showcase not only his lyrical skills, but also his expansive vocal range.

At the age of 16, he formed a coalition of independent artists who were just as dedicated to progressing with their music and grind as he was.

DScales attended Auburn University where he met and produced for a number of other diverse artists. He performed across the southeast and was selected as 1 of 30 finalists for BET's "106 and Park: Wild Out Wednesday" in New York. Although he did not make the final cut, the experience fueled his desire to learn more about the music industry and pushed him to become a better artist. He independently produced & released two albums: "My Gift, My Curse" (2008) & "Patience" (2009). After graduating from Auburn University, D Scales began ghost writing for various artists across several genres in 2012.

He continues to work with different artists, assisting with their development, offering guidance, and having motivational conversations.
