Grief is the natural response to love. When someone we love is no longer with us, our hearts ache because the bond we shared was so deep. Every person’s grief is unique — shaped by the love they had, the memories they carry, and the way they experience loss.

There is no “right” way to grieve, and no set time for it to end. For some, grief is expressed in tears, for others in silence, and still for others in moments of anger, confusion, or even relief. All of these are human, and all of these are held gently in God’s hands.

The Christian faith reminds us that even in our sorrow, we are never abandoned. Jesus Himself wept at the tomb of His friend Lazarus, showing us that our grief is holy, because it flows from love. Yet He also promised that separation does not have the last word: “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live” (John 11:25).

In grief, we walk with both pain and hope. Pain, because someone we love is absent. Hope, because we trust they are in God’s hands, Along the way, it is important to give ourselves permission to grieve honestly, to bring our sorrow before God in prayer, and to lean on others for strength.

Grief is not a problem to be solved. It is a journey of love, memory, faith, and healing — and you do not have to walk it alone.
