The Dual Reality is a story set in a world both different and similar to our own. It follows two inseparable best friends, Aiko and Yuri, whose lives are suddenly torn apart by fate.

Aiko has always been fragile and sensitive, her health delicate since childhood. When she suddenly falls gravely ill, her condition deteriorates quickly, and she is forced to undergo a risky surgery.

When Yuri learns what has happened, her world begins to fall apart. Fear and helplessness consume her. But one night, as she drifts to sleep, something impossible happens.

She finds herself face to face with Aiko healthy, radiant, and smiling as if nothing had ever been wrong.

Confused and unsure whether to trust what she is seeing, Yuri hesitates. Is this just a dream? Yet when Aiko pulls her into a warm embrace, Yuri feels an overwhelming sense of peace. Before she wakes, Aiko gently whispers:

“Don’t worry. I’ll be fine… and I’ll come back.”

When Yuri awakens, she tries to convince herself it was nothing more than a dream until she notices something strange. Resting beside her bed is a letter bearing the exact same words Aiko spoke.

Doubt begins to bloom in her heart.

Maybe it wasn’t just a dream after all.

As Yuri steps outside, the world feels different. The streets that once seemed bright and full of laughter now feel distant and hollow.

And so the story unfolds through two intertwined perspectives:

Yuri, learning how to live again in the real world while clinging to hope…

and Aiko, who leaves behind signs and letters within the dream world, doing everything she can to reach Yuri and to see her smile once more.
