I have spent more than three decades working at the intersection of technology, engineering, training and communication.

My career began in the Royal Navy Submarine Service, where I specialised in communications, radar and sonar systems before moving into writing training and nuclear safety documentation.

Since then, I have worked in technical documentation across a variety of engineering disciplines and regulated environments, including defence, nuclear engineering, government IT, automotive manufacturing and software development.

My work has encompassed engineering standards, safety and accreditation, training materials, software and API documentation.

I hold an MA in Technical Authorship from Sheffield Hallam University and have extensive experience of software development practices and modern documentation technologies.
