About Me
Hi, I’m Doreen!
I’ve been sewing and quilting for most of my life, and I’ve always loved making things with my hands. Somewhere along the way, though, I discovered that I didn’t just love sewing machines—I wanted to know why they worked, why they didn’t, and what was going on inside them.
So I started learning sewing machine service.
That quickly turned into a workbench full of machines, manuals, tools, screws, photos, notes... and more than a few “Where in the world did THAT come from?” moments. 😂
As I learned, I realized I needed a better way to keep track of everything. That’s how these workbooks began. I originally made them for my own bench—something practical that I could actually write in, check off, and refer back to while I worked on a machine.
Then I thought, I can’t be the only person who needs this.
So I turned them into the Bringing Sewing Machines Back to Life collection for other people who enjoy learning about, caring for, and working on their machines too.
I’m still learning. I’m still sewing. I’m still quilting. And there always seems to be another sewing machine waiting for me. ❤️
I hope these books make your own workbench a little more organized—and your learning a lot more fun.
Happy tinkering—and don’t lose the screws! 🧵🔧
