Dr. Ahmad Saatchi is an Emeritus Professor at Isfahan University of Technology (1982–2012) and a retired Faculty Associate in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (2014–2022). He served as a consultant to Corning Incorporated from 2022 to 2024 and as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville from 2024 to 2026.

Prior to joining the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Dr. Saatchi was a Visiting Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology (2012–2014), the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom (1998–1999), and Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia (1990–1991).

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Saatchi has been recognized as a Distinguished Professor at Isfahan University of Technology and as a Distinguished Professor of the Iranian Iron and Steel Society. He was also one of the founders of the Iranian Corrosion Association in 1982, contributing significantly to the advancement of corrosion science and engineering in Iran.

Dr. Saatchi is the author or co-author of eight technical books and more than 150 peer-reviewed scientific publications. Two of his most influential books, Corrosion Engineering and Key to Steel, have been reprinted in multiple editions over the past four decades and have become widely used references by engineers, students, and educators, making lasting contributions to metallurgy, corrosion engineering, and steel technology in Iran.
