Hi, I’m Jay Vaughn — a Louisville personal injury lawyer and a dad.

As a personal injury lawyer, I’ve spent my career representing people and families whose lives were changed in an instant by a car or truck crash. I’ve seen how often tragedy begins with a preventable distraction, a rushed decision, or something a new driver simply hadn’t been taught yet.

That’s why I created the Drive Safe Guide. Before my daughter turned 16, we went shopping for her first car, and I started putting together the lessons I most wanted her to carry with her. I gave her the finished guide after she turned 16. It brings together what I’ve learned through my legal practice, along with advice from family, friends, and a friend formerly in law enforcement.

I’m one of the first attorneys in the country to become Board Certified in Truck Accident Law, a Kentucky Super Lawyer since 2013, and a past chair of the American Association for Justice’s Distracted Driving Litigation Group.

I created this store to share the same guide with other parents. I hope it starts good conversations, reinforces safer habits, and helps you hand over the keys with a little more confidence.
