About Me
Elena Khomutova-Miller is a Russian-language writer and visual artist. She was born in Saratov into a family of German descent. In 1988, she enrolled in the Faculty of Philology at Saratov State University, but soon abandoned her studies to pursue the visual arts.
From 1992 onwards, she lived in Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Spain, before moving to the United Kingdom in 2018. While living in Spain, she also began writing in Spanish, drawing inspiration from Latin American literature and magical realism.
Her first published novel, "The House on Stilts", was released in the United Kingdom in 2023. The novel explores St Petersburg’s squats and alternative culture on the eve of the collapse of the Soviet Union. She is currently completing its sequel, "The Blue Hare", and preparing material for the next novels in the series: "Laboratory B" and "Twelve Weeks of October".
