About Me

Experienced-Based Doula | Student Midwife | Perinatal Herbal Medicine Practitioner & Advocate

I was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. My journey into birth work began not in a classroom, but in my own birthing experiences. The presence of a doula during my pregnancies transformed how I saw birth—it showed me what it meant to feel truly supported, heard, and empowered. That experience lit a fire in me to ensure other families could feel the same. What started as a calling quickly became a mission. I trained as a Certified Doula, studied traditional herbal medicine, and stepped into my role as a student midwife on the path to becoming a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). Each birth I attend reinforces what I believe at my core: birth is sacred, powerful, and every parent deserves care that honors both their body and their story. My philosophy is simple: birth is not something to be managed, but an experience to be respected and protected.

I founded Empowered Doula Services and served as co-curator of the Knoxville Black Maternal Health Conference (2023-2026) out of a deep commitment to addressing disparities in maternal health. Far too often, Black women and babies face preventable risks. My work—whether through one-on-one care or community education—is about changing that narrative and building a future where families thrive.

That commitment also extends beyond the birth room. I have proudly stood on the floor of the Tennessee State Capitol advocating for maternal health, contributing to the passage of SB1832, a bill designed to address inequities in maternity care across our state. For me, advocacy and direct care go hand in hand—because families deserve both immediate support and systemic change. Beyond titles and certifications, my role is simple: to walk alongside families as they step into one of life’s most transformative moments. With a balance of evidence-based care and holistic practices, I help create the space for parents to birth in confidence, wholeness, and power.

This is not just my profession—it is my purpose.
