About Us
This curriculum holds a piece of our hearts.
In late 2019, Melanie was asked to teach a class on entrepreneurship to students in our local co-op, and she asked Justin (who has his degree in business) to help her. It was known that we ran a few home businesses and that our children had created their own at only 7 years old and enjoyed participating in local markets.
With the class scheduled for the Fall of 2020, we went in search of an existing curriculum. There were a few you might recognize, but we won't name them. They were decent, informative⦠but they were all based in theory rather than application.
Then, 2020 happened, and our co-op cancelled all upcoming classes for the school year. Ultimately, it gave us time and became an opportunity to create something truly special. With our shared experiences starting businesses that worked, as well as businesses that didn't, and our experiences guiding our own children to launch theirs successfully, we set out to put that experience to use helping others.
EntreKIDneurs was written with a lot of love, sweat, and possibly a few tears. Every illustration was drawn by an artist, and many were drawn by real EntreKIDneurs, teen artists like Macey and Sarah Jean, whose work is featured within the pages of our books.
Here is our promise. Your students are not going to just read about entrepreneurship. They are going to become entrepreneurs. They will stand behind their products and be able to sell to real customers who will pay with real money.
That last part is what changes a kid. When you've looked a stranger in the eye, explained your product, made the sale, and counted back the change correctly, that is an accomplishment that cannot be bought - it's one that has to be earned.
You do not need a business background to teach this curriculum. Every lesson tells you what to say, what to ask, what your students will probably respond with, and what to do next.
We'd love to hear your success stories!
Blessings,
Melanie & Justin Vitovsky
