Ernie Coates grew up 2 hours north of Toronto, Ontario Canada in a small City of Owen Sound. Ernie joined the Canadian Military at 19 years of age and served his country for 20 years in Communications and Electronics. Ernie and Julie married in 1983. Ernie and Julie have 10 children and 12 grandchildren. Upon Ernie's retirement from the Canadian Military in 2000, Ernie worked as a computer/network admininstrator for the County of Grey. In 2007 Ernie started is real estate career with RE/MAX Grey Bruce Realty in Owen Sound. Ernie quickly became one of the Owen Sound Re/MAX's top selling realtors. In 2012 Ernie Coates and Bill McFarlane opened Sutton Sound Realty Inc. in Owen Sound. In 2019 Ernie and Julie sold everything they owned in Owen Sound and moved to Granville Centre (near Annapolis Royal) Nova Scotia. Ernie is now semi-retired. Working real estate at a slow pace and looking after his Khaki Campbell ducks, Rhode Island Red chickens and California White Rabbits.
