How To Do Insulin Shots
- Wash Hands.
- Check Insulin:
- Right type and dose?
- Not expired?
- Roll cloudy insulin to mix.
- Prepare the Injection:
- Vial:
- Clean the top with alcohol.
- Draw air into syringe (same as dose).
- Insert needle, push air in, draw insulin.
- Pen:
- Attach needle, prime with 1-2 units, dial dose.
- Clean the Injection Site:
- Abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.
- Wipe with alcohol.
- Inject:
- Pinch skin.
- Insert at 90 degrees.
- Push plunger/button all the way.
- Hold 5-10 seconds.
- Dispose of Needle:
- Use sharps container.
- Wash Hands Again.

How To Administer Medical Grade Eyedrops
- Wash Hands
- Soap and water.
- Check the Drops
- Right medication, right eye, right time.
- Shake if instructed.
- Tilt Head Back
- Look up at the ceiling.
- Pull Down Lower Eyelid
- Creates a small pocket.
- Hold Dropper Close (But Don’t Touch Eye)
- About an inch above the eye.
- Squeeze One Drop Into Pocket
- Avoid touching the eye or lashes.
- Close Eye Gently
- Press lightly on the inside corner (near the nose) for 1-2 minutes to keep the drop from draining.
- Wipe Excess Liquid
- Use a clean tissue.
- Wash Hands Again.
Tips:
✅ Wait 5-10 minutes between different eye medications.
✅ Never share eye drops.
✅ Store as directed (usually in the fridge or at room temp).
