Born in Tokyo, he studied piano from the age of seven to fourteen and began playing drums at eighteen. In 2002, he enrolled at the Los Angeles Music Academy (now LACM), where he studied under Ralph Humphrey, Joe Porcaro, Sherman Ferguson, Tony Inzalaco, and Michael Shapiro. During his time in Los Angeles, he also performed and participated in numerous sessions with local musicians.

He has performed with artists such as Yoshihiko Inoue (ts), Patrick Bartley (as), and Donna Burke (vo), among many others. Currently, he is active with groups including AB Plankton and his own quartet. In addition to performing, he is also recognized for his work in music production and design, showcasing a wide range of creative activities.
