About Me
I’m Alfred Stowe, a paramedic, father of twin boys, and author of Taking Off the Armor. My journey began in the fire service in rural Eastern North Carolina with a simple desire to help my community.
Through years of service, loss, and personal struggles, I’ve learned how much first responders can carry home beneath the uniform. I share my story to encourage honest conversations about mental health, faith, family, and finding yourself again. My message is simple: it’s okay not to be okay, and you don’t have to carry it alone.
